Fortunately, all quick settings are highly customizable. From order, grid size, layout and more. Lets start.
As many users have noticed, the notification pop-up bar has five quick toggles for settings. You can swipe them to have more options. Then, depending on the carrier, you’ll even always have a slider available to change the screen brightness. Or other things. If you swipe down with two fingers instead of one, you’ll see the full list of all quick settings. Or just scroll down twice.
It’s officially called the Quick Settings menu. The original 5 quick settings toggles in the pop-up bar can also be changed and customized. Do not allow owners to add their most used settings. To add silent mode, night shift or a flashlight. Something that many people don’t do, but they should. Here’s how to change things up as you see fit.
Instructions
If you want to customize the look, feel and use of the notification bar, we’ll show you how. It’s actually really easy and once done it will be very convenient. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification bar. Then scroll down a second time. Users will now see a gear-shaped slider and 3 dots in the top right. This is the 3-dot menu button. Tap that and you will have two options.
Pressing the 3-dot button will have an option that allows you to edit the entire notification pop-up bar or “Button Layout”. This latter will change how many icons appear at once. It can be 3×3, 4×3 or 5×3.

Now everything will be a little different when a user pulls down the notification bar. Unfortunately there is now a way to move the persistent brightness slider or notifications like which WiFi network you are connected to.
However, we can change where the brightness slider is. At least on most US carrier models. Pull down the bar twice and tap the “down arrow” to the right of the brightness slider. This will give owners several additional options and controls. The most important of these is “show control on top” rather than bottom. It’s all about personal preference, so choose what you want.
Other Customization
Additionally, there are a few more steps owners can take when it comes to customizing the notification bar. Some seek this guide in hopes of changing the colors or increasing the font size of the watch and other above-the-screen things.
For that, go to settings > Wallpaper & themes to choose a new theme. Most will completely change the color of the notification bar, quick settings, and other features of your device.
Or you can go to settings > Display and change the font size or view the scaling. Second, it will make everything a little bigger without making the font too big. This is the first step we would recommend, then increase the font second if you need bigger or different things.
Another bonus tip is to clear how many notifications can be shown so that the top of the screen isn’t filled with icons or even add a battery percentage. Go to Settings > Display > Status Bar and choose what you want for the two options we just mentioned.
